about outloud Bible project
Hi, we’re mike and Kelsey domeny
We love the Bible and desperately want others to fall in love with it, too. We believe it is the complete, inerrant Word of God, preserved for us today. It contains everything we need to find freedom from sin and death through Jesus Christ, and to become more like him as we follow him. We just have to know what he says, and do it.
Outloud Bible Project has been on our hearts for over 15 years, but since then, God has led us on a road of slow but intentional preparation.
Through Mike’s 10+ years of full-time performance ministry with 321 Improv, Kelsey’s service on church creative staff, and our shared work in theatre production, small group discipleship, entrepreneurship, and local church leadership, we have learned to pursue God’s heart for humility, growth, and obedience.
It’s this heart that we seek to cultivate in the lives of God’s people around the world through Outloud Bible Project.

“In the beginning, God…” (Genesis 1:1) ~ the Eternal One without beginning and without end ~ the great I AM. God reveals Himself to us as three in one: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. He is characterized by His creativity, loving mercy and grace, His intolerance for sin and His forgiveness for those that turn from their sin and trust Him as Lord.
-
The way to God the Father is through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus, like God the Father, has always existed. God the Father sent His beloved Son to earth, born of the virgin Mary, to live among the people He loved. In obedience to His Father, Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life. His primary purpose during His time here on earth was not primarily to teach or comfort, but to die on a Roman cross as a once-for-all sacrifice as atonement for all sin, providing salvation for mankind. God raised Jesus from death on the third day to reign with Him forever and to prepare a place for us in Heaven.

The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is a deposit or guarantee that we are indeed saved and will live forever in Heaven. (2 Corinthians 5:5) The Holy Spirit lives in believers to communicate God’s truth, convict them of sin, and provide comfort in times of hardship. The Holy Spirit gives gifts to empower believers to build the church. A faithful, submitted life produces characteristics (fruit) of the Spirit.

God desires a relationship with us, His creation, but sin separates us from the holy God who loves us. The Bible is clear that the wages (or cost) of sin is death (Romans 6:23). In the Old Testament, a physically perfect animal was sacrificed to atone for sin, providing a temporary solution to an ongoing sin problem. We deserved to die for our sins, but He provided the Perfect Sacrifice to die on our behalf.

Salvation is a gift, freely given to anyone who acknowledges Jesus as Lord and Savior. It cannot be earned; no one can boast that their good works earned admission into Heaven (Ephesians 2:8-9). Believers are called to live righteously as willing servants with gratitude.
-
God created each human being in His image, with unique personalities, physical features and gifts. God does not make mistakes; each male and female born on this earth has a unique purpose. Believers must value and defend human life from conception to natural death.
-
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by human hands under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is without error. While it contains historical and poetic aspects, it is different from any other book ever written because it is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), complete with the power to bring people to repentance and salvation.

Baptism by immersion is not a requirement for salvation, but is a requirement of obedience and submission as the first step of discipleship. Christian baptism is a beautiful picture of Jesus’ death and resurrection as the believer identifies with Him. It signifies new life that is eternal and future resurrection from the grave.
